Hilltop Holdings is seeking a talented Model Validation Analyst (Quantitative Analyst). The Model Validation Analyst is responsible for conducting model validations to assess risks associated with the development, implementation, and use of models across Hilltop Holdings and its subsidiaries.
- Support the model validation team with the review and assessment of model related risks across Hilltop Holdings
- Perform testing and reviews to verify that models are performing as expected, in line with their design objectives and business uses
- Provide effective challenge to model owners on the different model components (e.g., data inputs, processing components, implementation, output reporting and use)
- Communicate validation findings to model owners and management
- Prepare technical reports documenting validation analysis and outcomes
- Perform periodic reviews to monitor ongoing model performance and evaluates model changes
- Assist with model governance activities including issue management, documentation reviews, model inventory management, and model risk reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, or other quantitative discipline. Advance degree is preferred.
- Understanding of financial (fixed income and derivatives) or statistical modeling techniques
- Ability to learn new financial, statistical, econometric, and mathematical modeling techniques
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical or process documents
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Experience with statistical or data analytics software (e.g., R, Python, Bloomberg or Moody's) is a plus
