Briess Industries has a Summer Opportunity available within our Quality Labs in our Manitowoc Facility.
JOB SUMMARY
Evaluate products to determine if they conform to internal and customer specifications. Provide quality testing and information to management for aid in production and shipping. Create and distribute laboratory lot analysis to customers. Provide laboratory coverage to other divisions as needed. Audit and update Briess Quality Systems documents as needed. Provide assistance in other areas as needed.
TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
1. Prepare and conduct appropriate quality tests on incoming, production and shipment samples for all Briess divisions according to company procedures. Compile and compute data from test results. Distribute test results as necessary.
2. Create and distribute laboratory lot analysis (COAs) and shipment or pre-shipment samples to customers.
3. Provide information for product release to plant managers, quality departments and inventory control.
4. Maintain safety in the laboratory.
5. Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory.
6. Keep laboratory equipment calibrated and properly adjusted. Keep related records updated. Complete regular proficiency testing for quality testing procedures.
7. Coordinate testing of samples to be complete in a timely manner.
8.Provide vacation coverage as needed in Briess laboratories.
9. Assist Quality Managers with tasks as needed.
10. May perform other duties such as assist in research and development or production quality.
11. Complete a project within the lab setting that will develop deeper understanding of malt analysis and the malting process. Present project results to management team.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of Chemistry coursework and basic laboratory techniques. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally lifts up to 60 lbs. Sometimes stoops, bends, and pushes items. Must have coordination and dexterity to perform lab tests and obtain samples from production.
