Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is for the RN to evaluate nursing practices within the facility to help maximize efficiency and optimize resident care.

Position Summary:
  • Suggesting and implementing changes
  • Training nurses on new procedures
  • Ensuring all State and Federal requirements are followed
  • Develop, direct, coordinate, and implement nursing and staff educational programs including:
    • Mandatory new-hire orientation for all new staff and Concise orientation for temporary personnel
    • Orientation programs for all new nursing department staff
    • Skills training for nursing staff
    • Continuing education programs
    • Oversees annual competencies for all staff through MyPath
  • Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program- Responsible for the QAPI program including oversight, facilitating and leading the Quality Assurance Committee, developing QAPI meeting schedules, QA audits, PIP programs and ensuring compliance.
Qualifications: Minimum AAS Nursing degree, required and BSN preferred. Current valid New York State RN License. one-year experience in Long Term Care; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
