Resonac Powdered Metals America, Inc. is currently looking for a Quality Engineer for it's Greensburg, IN location. This position acts as the liaison for customers and/or production departments. As well as, ensures that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit PPAP’s per company and/or customer requirements.
  • Monitor and improve the quality of operational processes and outputs.
  • Design quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions.
  • Act as the Quality Assurance Representative for APQP and all related issues.
  • Work in conjunction with customers, engineering, and production departments to resolve internal and customer issues.
  • Oversees and champion all external and internal problem-solving teams.
  • Serve as an associate member of the Material Review Board.
  • Conduct off-site quality system surveys with the Purchasing Department of our suppliers and subcontractors. Ensures that follow-up corrective action is addressed, implemented and is effective.
  • Submit and attain customer deviations as required.
  • Audit internal quality systems and improves them as needed.
  • Train and mentor Quality Engineers, Technicians and Inspectors.
  • Prepares and submits monthly forecasts to the Quality Manager for any/all cost affiliated with the position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent computer and application skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent project management and time prioritization skills with the ability to lead project teams.
  • Strong working knowledge or statistical techniques
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in the operation and programming of all measurement equipment.

Working Conditions

  • This job operates primarily in an office setting (60%) but will require work on the manufacturing floor (40%).
  • Incumbents may be subject to high temperatures, loud noises, and dirty working conditions.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax.

Physical Requirements

  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, may require lifting up to 30lbs, standing, walking, bending, stretching, use of hands to feel, touch, or handle objects, and talking.

  • Attends training and customer driven seminars, workshops and conferences.
  • Travel for extended periods of time to work off-site
