We are seeking a Quality Engineer who is responsible for planning and directing activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages and ensures Quality Assurance is understood, executed and compliant for internal and external customers. Main focal point in new product qualification process, resolving issues with escapes & turn backs affecting product quality to Customer.
- Reviews product design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality manuals to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the problem to ensures that products meet customers quality and product integrity requirements.
- Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product.
- Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Ensures contract compliance by reviewing and approving quality requirements for customer purchase orders, manufacturing, and other related services.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications
- Identifies the root cause of quality problems, and coordinates modifications or other corrective actions. Offers technical guidance and support in response to quality testing and analysis.
- Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements
- May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality
- Utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of industry experience in a Quality Engineer or Product Design Engineer role
- Certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies
- Ability to clearly identify problem areas and communicate the problem to engineers and operations that could include customer representatives
- Have experience creating and executing practical solutions to product problems in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to create Engineering Guidelines for use in design development
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
- Ability to travel
- Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
