Quality Assurance Specialist

Pay Range: $17.25 to $21.25 per hour

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a computer savvy person for our full-time Quality Assurance position.

This position will be working in our Administrative Building and is responsible for planning, promoting, and supporting quality assurance, quality improvement, compliance, and risk management initiatives across the Agency. Travel to other locations for meetings necessitated by job duties is required.
Responsibilities:

  • Participate in risk management and documentation quality assurance and improvement through chart audits:
    • Conduct routine staff performance audits, compile data, and maintain a tracking system of audited clinical records.
    • Work with agency staff to assist in developing clinical key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Use business intelligence tools to gather data and track trends.
  • Monitor and prompt action to improve the timeliness of clinical documentation:
    • Generate and distribute reports such as clients with no services, missing interventions, missing treatment plans, etc.
    • Review and distribute upcoming and overdue eligibilities weekly.
    • Participate in Quality Service Review and Quality Improvement Plan audits as needed or indicated.
  • Maintain relationships with Managed Care Organizations
  • Manage Pay for Performance, Directed Payments, and other Outcome Based Metrics to ensure quality client outcomes as well as to maximize all potential revenue streams.
  • Coordination and follow up on monthly MCO audits.
  • Attend status meetings monthly or as needed.
  • Track and coordinate agency wide conditional discharges/probate orders
    • Preparation of probate petitions including coordination with the courts and timely filing.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of QA activities by:
    • Carrying out other assigned projects aimed at process improvement and enhanced efficiencies.
    • Participation in agency wide committees including Corporate Compliance and Evidence Based Practices (EBP).
    • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Rehabilitation, or Human Services required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in the healthcare field is required.
  • A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and auto insurance, or access to a reasonable alternative, is required.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel required; Advanced skills preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in person and by phone, are required.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality is required.
  • Facility with a variety of computer applications (such as Microsoft Office) and databases is required.
  • Ability to relate to clients with a range of mental health problems including those with serious and persistent mental illness and their families.
  • Demonstrated responsiveness to the needs of external and internal customers.
  • Ability to advocate for client’s interests.
