Job description

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform quality control tests on products in lab as required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make routine decisions involving quality issues.
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping of results.
  • Ensure that safety guidelines for the lab are followed
  • Ensure that chemicals are appropriately stored and labeled.
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping of the lab.
  • Make samples in laboratory as directed by R&D chemists.
  • Pull raw material samples as directed by R&D chemists.
  • Wet chemistry analysis.
  • GC and HPLC analysis, methods development, and basic GC/HPLC troubleshooting/maintenance.
  • Assist with regulatory functions such as EPA sub-registrations and FDA product listing.
  • Assist with environmental requirements such as Storm Water Reporting, Tier II, etc.

Experience, Educational and Technical Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of Quality Control experience.
  • Experience in the chemicals industry is a plus.
  • BS in Chemistry or related field

Required Skills:

Must be able to take direction and work well with others. Must be able to work under deadline pressure. Must be able to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.

Self-motivated with a strong results orientation based on solid analytical thinking and judgment.

Problem solving skills:

Employee should have attention to detail, a sense of urgency, accountability, business ethics, professionalism, and self-motivation.

Must possess excellent written and spoken communication skills.
