The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for all aspects of purchasing, vendor relationships, and reporting on assigned product lines at HRP. Key aspects of the position include detailed coordination with sales, wholesale and retail promotions, as well as marketing functions to ensure workflow efficiency. This position will use established systems and procedures to maintain target inventory levels, achieve budgeted goals for inventory value and turn rates, reduce obsolete and aged inventory, monitor vendor delivery performance, manage vendor returns, solve any vendor paperwork or payment discrepancies, negotiate favorable pricing and terms, and maintain part cost and FACTS accuracy to ensure target profitability for the products sold by HRP.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain win-win vendor relationships as supported by HRP business methods.

· Oversee replenishment of assigned product lines to ensure established goals and metrics are met.

· Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid back orders, increase inventory turn, and reduce obsolete and overstocked inventory for assigned product lines.

· Monitor and communicate vendor production schedules to key internal stakeholders. Manage and influence production priorities and vendor capacities to ensure strategic initiatives are met.

· Maintain accurate PO information in FACTS system.

· Maintain accurate product information in FACTS, which includes descriptions, pricing, bill of materials (if applicable), ordering information, vendor information, delivery information, and any other critical setup information.

· Other special tasks/projects as assigned by HRP leadership.

Qualifications/work experience:

Prior purchasing experience.

Experience w/ Radio Control Hobby Products preferred.

Familiarity with FACTS system is helpful, but not a must.

Must be able to communicate purchasing objectives clearly and effectively among different departments within HRP.

Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Excellent analytical abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task.
