ATC Healthcare Services - Metro Detroit is seeking Ph.D level Psychologist to fill a position at Walter Reuther Psychiatric Hospital an in-patient psychiatric facility.

Requirement:

• PhD Level licensed psychologist
• Licensed in the State of Michigan
• Preferably 5 or more years of experience post graduate school (ability to supervise graduate students)
• Expertise in working with ADULT, severely mentally ill inpatient population and/or forensic psychiatric population
• Expertise in Psychological Testing, Neuropsychological Testing, Individual/Group Therapy, behavior planning (a plus)
• Expertise in one theoretical background with knowledge of other evidence-based treatments

Compensation: $162.00 per hour

This position is expected to be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The employee may function as a lead worker or senior worker. At this level, employees are responsible for overseeing the work assignments of other professionals or have regular assignments which have been recognized by Civil Service as having significantly greater complexity than those assigned at the experienced level.

Performs directive, non-directive and supportive therapy.

Observes, records, and evaluates the behavior of clients during examinations and other situations.

Effectively communicates results in written and oral form, with treatment recommendations as appropriate.

Confers with other professional staff members regarding significant reactions or events which affect the client and the treatment process.

JOB DUTIES:

Participates in research studies related to psychological, educational, or treatment techniques.

Attends training seminars and workshops related to the work.

Provides testimony in court hearings regarding a variety of psychological matters.

Performs related work as assigned. Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work.

Provides assistance in the presentation of research findings. Reviews and coordinates admissions, discharges, and referrals.

As a member of the treatment team, collaborates with other professional staff in diagnosing problems, formulating treatment plans and evaluating progress.

Writes behavioral treatment plans for clients. Selects, administers, scores and interprets a variety of diagnostic instruments, such as psychological, achievement, neuropsychological, intelligence, interest, personality, vocational, and projective tests.

Provides on-going group therapy to clients. Provides crisis intervention assistance.

Provides assistance in training facility staff and students in processes and techniques of behavior modification, group guidance, and problem solving.

Compensation: $162 per hour, in-person/on-site position, bi-weekly payroll. PTO available.

Reporting

Reports to the franchise owner/manager or designee and to client supervisors and managers.

Education

PhDLevel licensed psychologist licensed in the State of Michigan

Licensure

Active, current and unencumbered psychologist license in the state of Michigan.

Credentials

• Background screening as required by the contract.
• OIG, SAM, OFAC and NSO screening.
• Current health provider CPR from the American Heart Association at the BLS level.
• Hepatitis B Statement or Declination [OSHA 29 CFR, 1910.1030(f)(2)].
• Tuberculosis screening, including an initial baseline TB test prior to being placed at the facility. Some facilities may require a 2-step PPD which consists of two-step testing with one week between tests, within the preceding 12 month or within the contract timeframe. The Quantiferon Gold test or T-spot may be used in lieu of the a TB skin test.
• Drug screening as required by the contract.
• Additional credentials as designated by contract.

Environmental Working Conditions

• In-patient setting.
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
• The physical demands are representative of those that may be required by an employee to successfully perform the representative duties and responsibilities of the job. Applicant should be able to read medical equipment and documents.
• A physical examination may be required by some states and some clients.

• 7. Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

• 9. Performs other duties as assigned.
