Role: RN Psych
Location: Sacramento CA
Schedule Notes: (3) RN Needed Shift: NOC 3a-3p Contract: 13 weeks
POSITION SUMMARY: The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, & evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process & the STANDARDS of care & practices.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Preferred Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the California State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification & successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) training (provided in-house), including appropriate use of Seclusion & Restraint, within 30 days of employment,
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:
Assessment 1. Document patient information & nursing care in the provision of nursing services.
2. Document & reassess any significant changes in the patient's condition in compliance with facility policy.
3. Report any signs or symptoms of infection in patients to the Infection Control Nurse. 4. Verify the accuracy of patient records.
1. Knowledge of psychiatric & medical nursing procedures is essential.
2. Knowledge of all code procedures.
3. Knowledge of Mental Health Laws & Child Abuse/Neglect/Maltreatment laws, & the DHS provider agreement as applicable.
4. Skill in organizing & prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
5. Skill in telephone etiquette & paging procedures.
Skills:
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility. - Required: 3 Years Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Highly desired BLS
- Required CA RN License
- Required Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required - Required Handle with Care (HWC)
- will train during orientation
