Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI), a Davey company, is seeking an organized and motivated Proposal Specialist for our business development, marketing, and sales efforts.

The successful candidate will join a high-performing and collaborative proposals and marketing team that prides itself on its strong culture of customer service to WSSI’s staff of 230+ professionals. Your contributions will help WSSI position for winning new projects for a wide-range of services balancing environmental protection and land use goals. Your creativity and organizational skills will be exercised daily as we work with WSSI staff and teaming partners to prepare RFP responses and presentations that demonstrate There’s No One Better in the Field! Your work will also support marketing efforts, including our development of marketing collateral. Through a wide array of tasks you’ll have opportunities to hone your skills as well as develop new proficiencies, from writing content and preparing and managing proposals, to effective internal and external communication on our pursuits.

The successful candidate will lead or support:

• RFP responses and proposal writing
• Presentation preparation
• Marketing collateral development
• Market research and planning
• CRM management

Our company is headquartered in Gainesville (Northern Virginia), with branch offices in Richmond, Virginia Beach, Roanoke, and Blacksburg, Virginia, and in Millersville, Maryland, as well as field offices in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Tampa, Florida. The successful candidate will support the proposal and qualifications efforts of each of the offices, and interact with the technical leaders of the firm throughout these regions. Some limited travel to office locations may be required at times to support the company mission. An ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively, and telework and a flexible schedule may be an option.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related subject or equivalent experience; 4-7 years of experience in proposal development or marketing, preferably in the Architecture-Engineering-Construction industry.

The preferred candidate will have strong organizational systems, excellent writing skills, and proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and CRM systems (Cosential is a bonus).
