AVL is continuing to grow and evolve as new technologies emerge such as battery, electrification, ADAS, etc. We are searching for a Project Manager II to join our team and continue supporting our growth. This Project Manager II will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of technical or PM experience with preferably 1 year spent in new technologies. Our PM team is responsible for managing a variety of processes, projects and products working with different internal and external customers. This opportunity will join a dynamic environment with the support of a team. The PM role will continue to provide growth and development as everyday provides new and different challenges and opportunities.

In addition to experience, candidates should possess proficient communication, teamwork and a strong work ethic. The Project Manager role is a leadership position and a key part of the AVL organizational structure. Experience with Microsoft is required, and SAP is beneficial. AVL will consider partial or fully remote candidates for the opportunity. Travel to customer sites will be required as needed.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Controlling of projects with medium commercial, social, and technical complexity.
  • Co-ordination of Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Customer site activities.
  • Managing the project initialization and planning
  • Ensures implementation of projects in compliance with all related processes to achieve targets (cost, timing, deliverables) and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures project quality gates (handovers from and to other departments, design reviews etc.) are fully complied with
  • Problem solving.
  • Scope change management
  • Customer Relationship Management during project execution.
  • Authority of overall budget control – manage and control contingency
  • Interface with Finance and support project accounting requirements.
  • Identify new business opportunities on existing projects.
  • Responsible for applying appropriate tools and methods (Quote, PRISM, risk management, open issues list, documentation, internal project reporting, etc.)
  • Proactive in escalating as appropriate to keep cost, timing, and deliverables on track while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct project lessons learned with project team and management
  • Assisting with project proposal generation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience - in an below area preferred:Integration of powertrain and vehicle testing systems

Software/IT
Electrification/new technologies

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple customers.
  • Excellent people, verbal written communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with a medium level of content, technical, and social complexity (stress resistant).
  • High competence with MS Word, Excel, PPT, and Project
  • Awareness of and ability to accommodate personality and cultural differences
  • Distinctive customer focus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,065.92 - $156,217.72 per year
