Job Description
The Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation (BBP), a not-for-profit corporation, is responsible for the design, construction and operation of Brooklyn Bridge Park, an 85 acre, 1.3 mile, world-class park that stretches along the Brooklyn waterfront from Atlantic Avenue to Jay Street, north of the Manhattan Bridge. Adding much-needed open space for
Brooklyn and New York City residents, Brooklyn Bridge Park contributes to the extraordinary revitalization of the waterfront in the New York Harbor, serving as a bridge from the commercial uses of previous centuries to the recreational uses of the future. Construction of the park is ongoing, and BBPC operates areas of the park as they open to the public, while continuing to construct the remaining portions of the park design. http://www.brooklynbridgepark.org/
Summary/Objective:
Reporting to the Vice President of Capital the Project Manager participates in the oversight of capital construction and maritime maintenance projects. The Project Manager assists the VP by coordinating and communicating with internal staff and external contractors, consultants, engineers, and architects.
Essential Functions:
- Work alongside the VP of Capital on capital construction projects and the Maritime Maintenance program o Consult with the Park’s landscape architects and engineers on scope of work o Assist in contractor/consultant procurement; develop scope documents and request for proposals together with the VP of Capital o Manage the administrative procurement process through the City Record o Supervise contractors on site and coordinate with the BBP Facilities team to ensure compliance with
Park regulations o Attend weekly meetings with contractors and consultants o Work alongside the Park’s owner’s representative to track budget and spending on individual projects and ensure projects come in on budget o Develop schedules and track milestones alongside the Park’s owner’s representative
- Work alongside BBP legal on contract development and execution including all relevant compliance paperwork
- Manage capital invoicing in Avid and the PO process through excel tracker
- Communicate effectively and independently across all levels of the corporation and with external stakeholders o Liaise internally with the Park’s operations, facilities, communications and horticultural departments on upcoming projects o Coordinate with BBP’s Communications team on upcoming work, improvements and closures for public messaging and external partners
- Work alongside the Data Asset Manager to develop Cartegraph o Develop a capital archive to improve institutional knowledge, including a library of relevant specifications and cut sheets for Park assets in Cartegraph o Lead the integration of the maritime maintenance program into Cartegraph
Salary range : $70k-$80k annually
