The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager who has a knack for organization and a passion for project management to join our team. Use your technical and managerial skills to serve our clients and communities while working with an awesome team of engineers in the process. You’ll tackle unique and provocative projects and have an opportunity to help lead the company’s technical and project delivery initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Construction Project Manager will perform the following duties and functions:
  • Develop and manage the scope, schedule, and budget of clients capital systems projects.
  • Be responsible for the whole project lifecycle from planning, design, procurement, construction, integration, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain the project execution plan for assigned projects.
  • Work closely with the assigned project engineer(s) to ensure that all deliverables are compliant with client standards.
  • Act as liaison with internal and external stakeholders for assigned projects.
  • Provide oversight and directives for Consultants, Resident Engineer, and Construction Management Staff throughout the project.
  • Support and embrace the Asset Management process in the organization.
  • Manage coordination and communications with all involved parties, including internal and external stakeholders, other agency departments, senior management, consultants, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and build consensus.
  • Investigate, negotiate, and resolve project issues. Identify the root cause of problems and present appropriate solutions.
  • Be the client representative at meetings, including monthly internal project reviews.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates.
  • Monitor and produce status reports, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor work in progress; approve, negotiate, and execute, funding agreements and consultant contracts, authorize contract payments per contract.
  • Prepare staff reports and presentations for Management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders on assigned projects.
  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities safely to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
  • Negotiate and resolve project issues.

Required Credentials:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum of 15 years of related professional experience, of which not less than eight (8) years shall have been in project/construction management and delivering building projects in the role of Project Manager
  • Project Management/Construction Management Experience in building large facilities (Hospitals, Higher Educational Facilities, Municipal Buildings etc)
  • Strong communicator
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to work
  • Positive attitude/team player/able to accept constructive criticism
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record
