As a Haskell Interior Designer, you will have the opportunity to design impactful interior spaces for a large variety of clients and building types for public and private facilities throughout the United States.

Projects include facilities for the federal government, including the US Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, and National Guard; municipal, educational, and commercial projects; food and beverage, consumer products, and industrial and manufacturing facilities.

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced and creative early to mid-career Interior Designer who has the capability of managing and executing interior design efforts and enjoys working in a team-based setting with architecture, engineering, and construction staff through all phases of the design and construction process.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform interior design duties related to programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Determine and satisfy building code and sustainability requirements
  • Select and specify interior finishes, furniture, lighting, artwork, and interior signage
  • Produce presentation graphics in the form of drawings, sketches, 3D models, and renderings to appropriately convey design vision to clients and end users
  • Generate interior construction documents including finish plans, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules
  • Coordinate with the design and construction team, consultants, vendors, and owners
  • Participate in field verification, site inspections, shop drawing review, and other related construction administration activities
  • Collaborate with other interior design staff

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school
  • 5-10 years of interior design experience

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • Government project experience preferred
  • NCIDQ Certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, 3ds Max, Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) preferred
  • Sustainability credentials such as LEED AP or WELL AP preferred
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
