Project Billing/Office Assistant Long Island City, NY, USA
Technico is an established, successful, general contractor founded in 1997. The principal activity of the Company is new construction and capital improvement for various New York City-based public agencies. Technico is currently seeking someone to support the growing Accounting Department team of seven current members. This position reports directly to the CFO and Controller and will be based in Long Island City, NY. This is an on-site position. The successful candidate will be responsible for submitting monthly billings to governmental agencies on various projects, work permit filings, accounts payable and some accounting functions across all lines of General Contractor business.
Key responsibilities:
- Various projects will be assigned and be responsible for the following:
- prepare monthly payment packages for various agencies (i.e., NYCHA, SCA, DCAS)
- reviewing documentation of subcontractors (i.e., CPRs, Daily sign sheets, monthly forms)
- maintaining insurance certificates for all subcontractors
- Work together with the project managers & superintendents to submit monthly payment requisitions
- file for various work permits (i.e., custodian, after hour variance permits)
- Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees and departments supported
- Establish and maintain working relationships with subcontractors, vendors and customers
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to lead and complete special projects
- Work with the CFO and Controller in various other projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting will consider a plus
- Prior experience with billings to agencies such as NYCHA, SCA, DCAS is a plus
- Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel & Word skills
- Dependability and punctuality are extremely important
- Ability to successfully ensure the accuracy of project documentation
- Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented and ability to work with a high level of independence
- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Proven ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
