Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) SMC Security group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Program Security Specialist.

Our team works a remote on-site with a 4x10 schedule located at our SMC facility with every Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

As a Program Security Specialist (PSS), this position provides sophisticated and multifaceted security support to INL's Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) program. Applying outstanding technical knowledge and broad expertise in all functional security areas found in DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, the PSS addresses significant and unique solution sets to protect an exceptional large and sophisticated classified environment. Due to the complexity of the SMC Program, the PSS must demonstrate ingenuity in problem solving and be able to adequately communicate security guidance to a diverse customer base.

The PSS will support specific areas of responsibility as their day-to-day primary duties to support the overall security operations of SMC. Primary areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to Physical Security, Personnel Security, Incidents of Security Concerns, Information Security, Operational Security and Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) as it relates to the SMC Security Program. The PSS is responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance with requirements set forth in applicable Executive Orders, DOE Orders and DoD regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PR0300: Bachelor's degree plus 5 years relevant experience, Advanced degree plus 3 years relevant experience, or 13 years relevant experience with formal training/DoD CDSE certificates in relevant security field.

  • PR0400: Bachelor's degree plus 8 years relevant experience, Advanced degree plus 6 years relevant experience, or 16 years relevant experience with formal training/DoD CDSE certificates in relevant security field.

  • Extensive experience and knowledgeable of DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4 and ICD-705 Technical Specifications.

  • CDSE training and certifications in the following areas is desired: Information Security/Classification Markings, Personnel Security, Special Access Program (SAP) Security, Physical Security, Program Security, Risk Management, and/or Information Assurance.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • PR0300 Salary Grade 190 ($68,820 - $113,644)

  • PR0400 Salary Grade 200 ($81,288 - $134,100)
