Sprezzatura seeks a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager with a background in the field of educational research to join our team. The Program Manager will be a hands-on leader who will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple projects including supporting development and execution of client’s projects related to educational programs, policies, and practices. The candidate will participate as a working team manager, so strong experience in hiring and managing resources is important. The Program Manager will be responsible for client interactions and ensuring that assigned projects produce quality deliverables against scope and schedule. The environment is dynamic and client needs are often evolving; flexibility and forward-thinking views are important for success.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee research projects related to educational programs, policies, and practices.
- Provide direction on research protocols, data collection instruments, and sampling plans.
- Oversee data collection, data analysis, and data interpretation.
- Understanding and application of lean and agile principles to promote business agility.
- Develop reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Provide guidance and leadership to help the stakeholders see the art of the possible in leveraging research results to inform policy.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the research projects.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and institutional policies.
- Provide guidance and support across the program to both research and data science staff.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years’ experience building, developing, and leading high-performing teams, preferably in a government environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of lean, agile, and project management principles; experience applying principles in a multi-discipline environment
- Experience with Federal contract management and COR relationships
- Ability to understand the evolving needs of the customer and satisfy them while managing contract compliance.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Experience drafting strategic vision for a large project or program.
- Experience taking vague requirements and requests and delivering robust products, recommendations, and/or solutions.
- Experience with developing requisitions, interviewing, staffing, and overall resource management
- Experience with program control, including the development of controls used to manage performance, including cost, schedule, and staff management as well as elements to report out status, progress, and accomplishments.
- Strong analytical and investigation skills crafting solutions to challenging problems or issues.

- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to speak clearly and confidently, in-person and on conference calls, and give and receive candid feedback in an open, results-oriented environment.
- Demonstrate composure under pressure – ability to work well under pressure and make decisions quickly yet seek guidance when necessary.
- Location: Remote Washington DC
- Veteran Preference: Yes, but not required.
- Citizenship/Security: Must be a US Citizen or have a Green Card. Must be able to hold a federal security clearance.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- PMP certification
