Job description
Manage the day-to-day operations and objectives of the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores. Assist the FIU-RCMI Core Leaders and their designees in planning, budgeting, and evaluating center initiatives as well as, coordinate annual research conference event, external advisory board meetings and professional development workshops, provide FIURCMI research projects and administrative supplement studies with administrative support, communicate effectively with faculty and staff across all FIU-RCMI Cores and studies, and maintain a record of yearly processes for progress reports. Works closely with the other FIURCMI administrative team to ensure the harmonized administrative and financial management of the center. This position requires experience working with grant-funded research and familiarity with research or programs related to Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or related discipline.
- Oversees the day-to-day operational needs of FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores
- Contributes to strategic planning and staffing decisions for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores
- Establishes priorities and maintains quality control for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores
- Oversees the preparation and submission of annual NIH progress reports for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores a as well as the three FIU-RCMI research projects and all administrative supplement studies.
- Oversees hiring of new staff for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores.
- Oversees the logistical coordination of hosting annual FIU-RCMI research conference and the external advisory board meetings
- Collaborates administrative leaders to develop budget projections and monitor expenditures for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores as well as the three FIU-RCMI research projects and all administrative supplement studies
- Oversees budget operations and resolves related issues for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores as well as the three FIU-RCMI research projects and all administrative supplement studies
- Manages all the scheduling and communications associated with the Search and Screen process of the FIU-RCMI Recruitment Core.
- Maintains written documentation of internal procedures for progress reports for the Administrative and Recruitment Cores.
- Oversees the preparation of reports as needed for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores to comply with all internal and external reporting requirements and assists with the preparation of presentations.
- Works with RCMI Jr Events coordinator to oversee planning events for the for the FIU-RCMI Administrative and Recruitment Cores (e.g., accommodates speakers, reserves rooms, advertises, coordinates catering, organizes materials, handles follow up, etc).
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with financial projections.
- Experience working in Higher Education or grant management.
- Master's degree in a health-related field or an MBA.
- Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Excellent professional business communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
