Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Program Manager 4 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Work Location: Hybrid, one week on, one week off. When remote, will be expected to come onsite as needed for meetings/walk downs. Onsite location TA-55.
Per diem: official travel while on the job will be covered.
Work Schedule: 9/80s or 4-10s
Organization/Group: INT-PROJ (55B40C)
Clearance: Active “Q” clearance required.

Education:
Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.

Will need to walk a quarter mile, standing for maybe an hr. during walk downs which are once a week.

Supporting 45+ projects at various stages of the project implementation process.

The program manager provides leadership and overall management of an assigned technical or operational portfolio, which may be large or small in total budget and may encompass one or more discrete programs. The program manager brokers with customers and individual researchers or research groups/programs to determine what work will be done to meet the customers’ needs, general timeframes, and funding requirements. The program manager is expected to develop working relationships that span existing internal and/or external institutional missions and extend into new opportunities as policies, missions, and opportunities evolve. Programs are a complex set of related activities needed to produce products or services over time to meet customer requirements within a given mission area. Programs are often ongoing over multiple years and evolve in response to the customers’ changing needs. The customer may be an external body, such as a federal agency, or may be an internal organization within the Laboratory. Programs often are funded by a specific source but may comprise similar activities funded by multiple sources.

This position will lead an Integrated Project Team (IPT) to conduct planning and execution activities including developing and documenting project scope, execution plan, schedule and budget baselines, identify, assess and manage project risks. Perform confidence assessments to develop contingency and management reserve estimates. Identify personnel needs, develop project personnel and evaluate their performance. Manage engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities to deliver the project safely and within schedule and budget constraints. Serve as the focal point for internal and external project communications.

Project Manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, managing and controlling costs and schedule performance for a project or sub-projects. Serve as a point of contact for project controls, including account scope, schedule, budget and technical performance. Lead efforts to ensure work packages realistically represent the duration and budget necessary to perform work. Perform variance analysis reviews, determine cause and effect of schedule or cost variance and define achievable corrective action plans. Present project management performance plans, status updates, trends, or issues to federal sponsor
