SUMMARY:
Community Solutions seeks a Residential Director to oversee our residential treatment programs tailored support for underserved adults who have not benefited from traditional outpatient mental health services. Our longstanding facilities and team provide a compassionate, strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed team and service delivery approach.
Reporting to our Senior Director, you will be a vital part of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including staff management, clinical treatment, documentation, and adherence to policies and regulations. The Residential Director must possess managerial experience, be responsible for program development, ensuring the implementation of evidence-based practices, as well as the development and oversite of program budgets.

Education and Experience:
Required:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working in mental health, including experience in a management or leadership role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, clients, and stakeholders.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
- Demonstrated experience running an effective program to meet agency contract requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented work environment.
- Empowerment, advocacy and support techniques for victims/survivors of violence, people with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field.
- Licensed clinician (LCSW, MFT, ASW, AMFT, Licensed Psychologist) in the state of California and registered and in good standing with California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS).
- Working knowledge of wellness and recovery concepts.
- Working knowledge of Santa Clara County and surrounding areas community resources.
- Knowledge of case management, crisis management, group, family and individual counseling, linkage-referral, and community-based services.
- Experience managing productivity and program expenses.
- Knowledge of relevant Evidence Based Practices and leading outcome driven care.
- Knowledge of change and project management.
What You'll Be Doing in the role of Clinical Residential Director:
- Ensures the program follows through with standards set by County, CCL, and DHCS standards.
- Completes and oversees the completion of internal, County and CCL incidents reports.
- Maintains appropriate documentation, per funding and agency requirements; collaborates internally with other Divisions and with public or community-based agencies. Maintains positive and effective relationships with agency service departments and community agencies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates an understanding of confidentiality policies, mandated child and adult/order adult abuse reporting and duty to warn procedures.
- Supervise weekly treatment meetings to ensure consistent and effective communication between staff members, oversight of client development and progress and to ensure a team approach is utilized in the treatment of our clients.
- Monitor staff morale and building team spirit; intervening and addressing any staff-related issues.
- Provide adequate and ongoing training of staff, and sufficient supervision to ensure that all services are in keeping with Community Solutions Mission Statement.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Promotes cultural awareness and sensitivity within the Agency.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and selected conferences, as assigned by the COO.
- Provides direct services, as needed. Provides back-up coverage for crisis response for evenings, after hours, and weekends.
- Reviews charts on a weekly basis with program to ensure audit ready charts for County, CCL, and DHCS standards.
- Prepares periodic reports for management and other departments as requested.
- Attends all County/community meetings, as assigned, provides leadership, brings back information and shares with appropriate staff in a timely manner.
- Consistently uses strength-based and solution focused problem-solving skills.
- Responds to phone calls and emails within 24 hours on business days. Resolve outstanding issues collaboratively using strength-based solutions focused approach.
- Demonstrates an understanding of HIPAA, confidentiality laws and policies, and assures the highest degree of confidentiality in the implementation of all responsibilities and duties.
- Successfully completes all training requirements for this position to ensure agency and contract compliance.
- Frequent travel required. Employees must have the ability to operate their personal motor vehicle to participate in client visits and any assigned Agency business.
- Performs first aid as needed based on training and certification.
Working at Community Solutions:
The annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $115,000. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, licensure, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Working Conditions:
Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in office, clinic, or community environments; work is performed with people who may exhibit unstable and potentially violent behavior, continuous contact with other staff and the public. For program staff assignments, work is performed by driving an automobile to transport clients in the community.
Sensory Demands: The employee/worker may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee/worker may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the lack of personal care.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance as required by specific programs, licensing regulations and Community Solutions practices.
- License: Possess a valid California driver’s license, current car insurance and a good driving record as documented by a DMV report and consistent with the Agency’s liability insurance requirements.
- Requires an automobile to perform routine job duties.
