NAMI Lake County Ohio has an immediate opening for a Program Coordinator who is responsible for all aspects of both school programming and volunteer enrichment, in addition to supporting the other NLC programs.

Ideally, this individual will have experience implementing and maintaining educational programs in the non-profit space, knowledge of adult learning styles, marketing experience, and experience coordinating a volunteer workforce.

Position specifics:

  • Full-time, exempt, salaried position, averaging 40 hrs/week.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or demonstrated equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge and personal lived experience with mental illness.
  • High degree of competency using web-based databases and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with a small team.
  • Willingness to be flexible and agile with timing and supporting the team.
  • Demonstrated skills in providing training, public speaking, and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain several projects concurrently.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state for training and conferences.
  • Empathy for those with mental health and addiction challenges and their families, and a passion to serve their needs.

Responsibilities:

NAMI Signature Programs

  • Collaborates with the Executive Director and Staff to implement all NAMI Signature

Education programs, especially our school-based Ending the Silence (ETS) programs, and any other assigned programs.

Duties are as follows:

  • Work closely with all Lake County schools to promote, schedule, and deliver all aspects of the ETS program.
  • Teach and facilitate the ETS program, as necessary.
  • Manage and provide support for staff and program leaders/facilitators as they provide programming.
  • Maintain wait lists, program metrics, and record-keeping for contracts, reporting, and grant requirements.
  • Ensure that requirements, goals, and fidelity with NAMI Standards of Excellence are met while monitoring the overall quality of programs.
  • Gather and report data for quality improvement purposes.
  • Prepare educational and training materials, correspondence, and other written program/project materials as needed.

Volunteer Enrichment

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, staff, and volunteers to assist in the development and implementation of our Volunteer Enrichment program.
  • Provide support and manage, in collaboration with program staff, all functions of the volunteer experience. This includes, but is not limited to: - Process background checks for volunteers. - Ensure volunteers maintain appropriate qualifications for their specific role. - Plan, schedule, and support volunteers’ onboarding, and ongoing professional development. - Review program evaluations with program volunteers and the Quality

Improvement team and facilitate quality improvement activities based on evaluation results and recommendations. o Maintain current volunteer databases. o Coordinate and track all necessary training for volunteer facilitators and employees.

Miscellaneous

  • Assist in office administrative tasks such as answering phones, returning phone calls and emails.
  • Participate in NAMI Lake County monthly board meetings and community outreach events as requested.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training, including: o Continuing Education Units via webinars and other programs to stay current on research and best practices. o Staff development training, staff meetings, and supervision meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
