Position Purpose
The Program Assistant coordinates and performs a wide variety of program activities in support of the Director, committee members, study leaders, and the membership to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the program/office of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Dartmouth (Osher@Dartmouth).

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience. Three plus years of office experience in a related field.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Diplomacy and sound judgment are essential.
  • Ability to work independently is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to become proficient in applications: Word, Excel, Zoom, Omni Update, ProClass.
  • Knowledge of InDesign and Outlook, and good with trouble-shooting technology questions/equipment
  • A team player.
  • Will require flexible work schedule for classes and events during term.
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with older adults a plus.
  • Proficiency in applications: Word, Excel, Zoom, Omni Update, ProClass.

Key Accountabilities
Program Support - Coordinates a variety of activities to support Osher at Dartmouth programs, including but not limited to course registration, database file maintenance, setting up classroom tech, and assisting study leaders; creates and distributes course packets to all participants. 70%
Communication and Customer Service - Greets members and other visitors reporting to the program’s office; provides information for program members and study leaders; maintains and update department website and various social media platforms; supports marketing, publicity, newsletters, and other publications. 30%
