Production Team Lead - 2nd Shift

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Production Team Lead must show leadership within the organization. This position will require the team member to fill in for the Shift Supervisor as needed and work together with the Shift Supervisor leading safety, quality, and productivity KPI’s. This team member will be training fellow employees as needed. Team Members performing this job are responsible for filling in for all areas of the manufacturing lines so fellow employees can take breaks and lunch. The Team Leader must know how to operate all pieces of equipment on the manufacturing line. Duties include but are not limited to ensuring that you execute all your duties and responsibilities in such a manner that we produce food-safe and delicious product that meets all formulas, specifications, quality, and compliance requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Leadership:
Ability to lead the team in various areas on the production line. This includes training, problem solving, general troubleshooting and working together. Ability to record data on quality documents, by means of computer, tablet, or paper. Ability to inspect and validate after sanitation, completing forms and documents as needed. In the Shift Supervisors absence, work with other shift supervisors in coverage, filling in as needed. Ability to validate PCP checks and verify they are completed within the allotted time window.
Scaling:
Ability to read lot codes, lot numbers, pallet tags and product descriptions. Ability to tare and weigh out ingredients as noted on product SKU recipe form. Ability to record data on quality documents. Train employees in area to be successful and pass the skills assessment as needed.
Mixer:
Ability to understand and document ingredient lot numbers for every batch. Ability to operate equipment required to mix batches, such as all aspects of the Buhler and Mondo mixer. Ability to perform sanitation CIP procedures on mixing skid. This includes assemble of hoses, changing from mixing to sanitation recipes on HMI and starting and running the CIP.
Depositor:
Ability to take deposit wrap weights at press, entering data into a tablet. Must be able to tare and read scale data to be entered. Ability to read HMI data screens, imputing data into the tablet. Must be able to track weight fluctuations and make necessary changes as needed. Ability to remove all parts from depositor, clean and reassemble with help, as needed.
Press:
Ability to understand and operate the press HMI and controls to cook the wraps. Ability to read HMI data screens, imputing data into the tablet. Must be able to track wrap size fluctuations and make necessary changes as needed. Ability to clean press platens as needed. Ability to validate PCP checks and verify they are completed within the allotted time window.
Packaging Area:
Must know all aspects of the packaging areas. This includes basic machine knowledge of the cooler, robots, ULMA, case erector, case packer and case sealer. Must be able to perform metal detector checks and any other packaging checks as needed. Ability to validate PCP checks and verify they are completed within the allotted time window.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ability to read and follow product formulas, specifications, and operating standards to make consistent and food-safe product every time. Ability to understand all the equipment parameters and settings and can make minor adjustments to facilitate changes necessary to produce consistent product every time. Ability to perform all required quality, food safety and safety testing, checks, assessments and document results and findings. Be able to read and understand work instructions. Able to write legibly for creating records and documentation. Able to do minor assembly and disassembly of equipment. Maintain a clean work environment. Ability to understand and abide by all environmental control requirements as they relate to waste-water and air emissions. Understand and achieve Key Performance Metrics required to ensure production is achieved. Be able to work with people and work in teams.
Be able to participate and give suggestions on how to improve your job, the plant, and the company. Be aware and follow all food safety rules and procedures in the execution of the job. Be able to follow direction. Be able to come to work on time every day. Alert management of any urgent or emergency situations requiring immediate attention or approval. Perform any other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Capable of performing routine math calculations, including addition and subtraction, for making adjustments, keeping track of temperatures, throughputs, etc. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required to keep you and the product safe, including but not limited to safety glasses, hard hats, aprons, gloves, etc. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to reach areas only accessible by ladder. Must be able to climb to and perform repairs on equipment in hard-to-reach-places. Be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. Willing to comply with all Rose Acre's/ EggLife’s safety, quality, food safety, environmental, employment, and GMP policies including working in a 100% smoke-free environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must possess the ability to work in a manufacturing environment, indoors, outdoors, office and warehouse areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres. Must be able to work in cold environments for long periods of time.
