The Production Specialist will coordinate and assist in directing the daily operations within the Melt Shop. This position would provide direct assistance to the EB Melt Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Generate work order instructions, including review of quality and scheduling commitments for the furnaces, including, but not limited to; Melt Release Forms, Changeover Checklists, Chamber Prep Checklists, Special Instructions, Data collection sheets, etc.
• Assist in the development of standard operating and manufacturing procedures, including melt parameters.
• Monitor EB performance and provide/implement suggestions to improve chemistry and surface quality.
• Collect or direct the collection of in-process data and product data and analyze to verify conformance to procedures and specifications.
• Coordinate and track the status of physical requirements for the furnaces, including, but not limited to; molds/crucibles, C/O prep items, input raw materials and electrodes.
• Work with Production Management Team to develop and work to budgets to achieve cost management goals and initiate or participate in cost reduction and/or profit improvement programs.
• Develop and work to attain throughput, delivery performance, changeover and yield goals.
• Coordinate the preventative maintenance program within the schedule & operating constraints of the furnaces. Assist in problem solving for unplanned downtime, as needed.
• Assist in issuing reports documenting operational performance, achievements, projects, training and maintenance work.
• Conduct all operations in a safe and clean environment. Enforce all safety rules and regulations.
• Provide improvement ideas by monitoring EB First Time Pass, breakdowns, products yields and C/O hours, PMs.
• Act as a liaison between the various departments to meet our customer's needs. Including but limited to scheduling equipment upgrades/replacement, completing PMs on time, skull recycling, transitioning skull chemistry(s), staggering furnace changeovers, cost reduction, etc.

Education & Experience

• Two year technical degree and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Titanium melt experience highly desirable.
• Prior supervisory experience highly desirable
• Proven ability to learn quickly in a technical environment and to make timely and effective decisions.
• Effective communicator (written and verbal)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.
• Disciplined and methodical administrative skills
• PC literate (emphasis on MS Office Products)
