Job Description


SUMMARY:
The Product Manager is responsible globally for the Pack Series Flow Wrapper product portfolio and the Medical Device and Fresh & Frozen Industries. Responsible for product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including: product line roadmap, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals are met: KPI’s: Market share, Customer Satisfaction (NPS), Revenue, and EBITDA

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the New Richmond site product portfolio across the complete life cycle (Portfolio management)
  • Own execution and implementation of the product development roadmap (market requirement specifications, quality gates, market launch) for the site
  • Ensure alignment with overarching cluster strategy. Act as sparring partner to Cluster Product Manager
  • Represent market & customer needs within the company, interface between sales organization, marketing, engineering, service and management to align different viewpoints and priorities
  • Provide market intelligence (trends, competitors, customer landscape, etc.) as basis for strategy development
  • Work with the marketing team to develop effective marketing programs to support all site (New Richmond) product lines
  • Develop and implement sales tools, product promotion programs and training
  • Define product line unique selling points and competitive advantages
  • Attend sales meetings, trade shows and industry seminars/conferences to support the product lines. Assist with the planning and execution of sales exhibits
  • Train & consult (& challenge) sales on portfolio & product allocation
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Travel up to 15% international and domestic
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct reports
  • Manage and motivate cross functional teams to meet project objectives and schedules

Qualifications


BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a BA or BS degree in Marketing or Product Management
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a B2B Product Manager
  • Must have at least 5+ years of experience in the Capital Equipment or Machine building Industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA preferred
  • Packaging Industry experience is desirable
  • Expertise in the product (flow wrapping) or market including specific technical or industry knowledge
  • Strong market research skills and knowledge
  • Strong technical product orientation and knowledge
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching new products
  • Superior project management and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work within local and international teams without formal authority
  • Capable of developing/maintaining good relationships with customers, prospects, and suppliers
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Effective trainer
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills
  • Possess conceptual and technical knowledge of packaging machines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and FrontPage
