We are rapidly growing and are seeking a Product Development Associate to join our team. This position will work within the manufacturing department and plays a pivotal role in our success by working with external customers to lead new product development/quotation projects. The Product Development Associate will collaborate with a team of manufacturing and engineering professionals to bring new products to life.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers, engineering, and manufacturing departments to prototype products and produce first articles.
- Utilize creativity and soft goods knowledge to develop manufacturing solutions that will result in efficient and repeatable processes.
- Analyze manufacturability utilizing industrial sewing machines and automated cutting equipment.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with internal and external customers to maintain development timelines and needs.
- Draft digital pattern files in applicable CAD programs. Optimize material usages and calculate yields.
- Create quotation packs to include materials, labor, and overhead calculations.
- Complete necessary documentation to transfer a new product to the manufacturing department including tech packs, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Assist in production set-up and training for product build.
- Maintain and organize production first articles and ensure accuracy of revision levels
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years of soft goods production design and/or engineering experience, or Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Basic textiles, manufacturing, and sewing knowledge preferred.
- Ability to draft 2D patterns in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Adobe Illustrator.
- Excellent communications skills, organized, dependable and detail oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.

- Ability to use data to identify manufacturing efficiency opportunities and drive process improvements.
- Ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and improvement efforts.
- Ability to work across shifts and functions to coordinate activity and solve problems.
