We are seeking a dynamic and self-starting Business/Pricing Associate to join the pricing team. As an integral member of the team, you will play an important role in ensuring production of high-quality proposals that contributes to Mathematica’s success in engaging meaningful work. To that end, we are looking for someone to fill this entry-level position and who is ready to take on the following responsibilities:


  • Develop and revise budgets involving use of Microsoft Excel formulas in developing multiple spreadsheet models
  • Prepare business proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs), grants, and other solicitations for government and private sector clients
  • Collaborate with the proposal director and key proposal team members on various aspects of pricing/budgeting as well as business/cost proposal preparation
  • Communicate with prospective subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of accurate and complete business proposal information
  • Facilitate final assembly, production, and delivery of proposals
  • Assist with implementing the pricing team’s strategic initiatives to ensure continuous process improvement

Position Requirements:

Successful candidates must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, liberal arts, or related field
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate data
  • At least one year of work and/or internship experience in an office environment preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A keen eye to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure
  • The flexibility to work overtime as needed


This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $55,000-$65,000.


Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working on certain projects. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance.
