JOB SUMMARY

Position Description: In this role, the CNC brake press machine operator programs parts into the CNC library, maintains the tooling, and checks completed parts for accuracy. This job requires reading the appropriate shop work orders to set-up and operate brake to form metal/steel to match the print. This role requires setting stop gauges and using care to properly align the material and operate the machine from the template or layout. Once trained, the brake press operator will complete work with minimum supervision and report to supervisor if there is defective material, unusual conditions and operating difficulties. Maintaining production records and meeting production goals set by the department manager are required.

Shift

2nd Shift- Monday- Thursday 2:30pm- 6am ($1.50 shift differential)

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production related machines to create/fabricate materials, parts and/or items to be used in the production of finished product with minimal programming capability.
• Work from blueprints, schematics, work orders and/or assembly sketches to gather, stage and assemble products and related items.
• Move completed product component(s) to the appropriate staging area for the next step in the product process.
• Once trained, completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, machines or other devised used in the normal course of the work performed.
• Monitor quality of own work and report to supervisor defective material, unusual conditions and operating difficulties. Keep required time and/or production records.
• Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow and adhere to prescribed safety regulations and procedures.
• May assist in training a new employee

Work Environment

• While performing the job of assemble, the employee is exposed to vibration, loud noise and dust.
• The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, but also walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear instructions. Employee will regularly lift and move up objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
