Job description

The Cook works under the direction of the Dietary Manager and is responsible for the safe and timely preparation of food in accordance with the established facility menu. The Cook will prepare the food in and sanitary and safe manor in accordance with food safety standards along with federal and state guidelines as it pertains to food preparation. The cook is also responsible for the preparation of appetizing food that adheres to the dietary budget.


Responsibilities: include:

  • Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner
  • Follow oral and written directions for menus and recipes.
  • Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces after food preparation.
  • Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets.
  • Responsible for care of food service equipment.

Requirments:

  • Valid Nevada Food Safety certification
  • Ability to stand during an entire shift
  • High standard of personal hygiene
  • Friendly, outgoing and flexible.
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays
