We are seeking a Prep Cook for our retirement and continuing care community, a senior care organization focused on ensuring the health, safety, wellbeing and care of our seniors.

Starting hourly wage is $17.50-18.00, depending upon your experience. Overtime is paid for hours worked over 8 per day and/or 80 per two-week pay period.

Odd Fellows is "a nice place to call Home" to nearly 230 residents in our independent living apartments, assisted living, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation area. We have 3 dining areas throughout our property, plus a café. Will work a rotating Full-Time schedule Between 11:00 am to 7:30 pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

~ Prepare and provide nutritious meals to all residents on a daily basis.

~ Ensure food being prepared is fresh.

~ Ensure all health & safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained.

~ Assist the Supervisor, Cook and other team members with producing, serving and cleaning up for the lunch and evening meals.

Duties in our dining rooms and commercial kitchen vary and include:

~ Set up kitchen workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.

~ Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).

~ Weigh and measure designated ingredients for recipes

~ Prepare salads, sandwiches, desserts and other side dishes

~ Prepare coffee and hot water

~ Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.

~ Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.


HIGHLIGHTS:

~ Prior cooking experience preferred, but not required.

~ ServSafe certification preferred but not required for hire.

~ Food worker permit required within 14 days of hire.

~ Must be available to work any day of the week (rotating schedule).

~ Must be 18+ years of age.

~ Ability to multi-task and work in solid team environment.

~ Background check and pre-employment drug screen are required.
