JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Precertification Associate obtains precertification or preauthorization from insurers for services rendered to their insured members. Researches patient information and obtains prior authorization for the requested services. The Associate is also responsible for follow up on any insurance rejection for lack of authorization as well as training and orienting new staff to the precertification division/processes. The Associate verifies outside provider's authorizations to ensure accuracy.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a health care field or business is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience in the health insurance industry, medical practice billing and/or coding position, scheduling clinical appointments or utilization review.
This position is 100% Remote. Onsite training may be required
