Job description

The Muthukrishnan lab at the Department of Oncology Science and the NCI-designated OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated, creative and ambitious postdoctoral fellow to study epigenetic mechanisms of treatment resistance and tumor-microenvironment interactions in glioblastoma. Research projects in this newly established laboratory will focus on 3 key aspects of GBM biology: a) investigating vascular-microglia interactions in mediating GBM immunosuppression, b) understanding molecular mechanisms of therapeutic resistance and plasticity in GBM c) delineating the role of histone acetyltransferases in GBM stem cells. These projects will utilize a combination of patient-derived cells and mouse models, and cutting-edge technologies such as CRISPR, and multi-omics approaches including single-cell and bulk RNA-sequencing, epigenomics, proteomics and spatial transcriptomics to identify potential therapeutics for targeting GBM. For more details, please refer to articles: (Nature communications 2022, https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-022-33943-0, Cell Reports 2022 10.1016/j.celrep.2022.111511)

The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in cancer biology/immunology/molecular biology or a relevant field with a strong background in cell culture, basic and advanced molecular biology techniques. Experience and expertise with mouse models, single cell RNA-sequencing and genomics is highly desired. Candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to learn and implement new techniques. Candidate will be expected to perform research, write manuscripts, submit fellowship applications, assist in grant proposals, and present their findings at local and national meetings.

The Muthukrishnan lab is a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive place with great excitement for cancer research. We plan to complete the recruitment process soon.

Interested candidates should submit their CV, letter of interest, and list of 3 professional references directly to Ms. Rebecca New at Onc-Sci@ouhsc.edu.
