Short Description

The Surgical Research Laboratory, Department of Surgery, Cooper University Hospital and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Researcher position to study targeted therapy of upper aerodigestive tract cancer. The Postdoctoral Researcher will study esophageal cancer and potentially lung cancer under the direction of Dr. Luke Chen, using cancer cells, mouse models and human tisues.

This Postdoctoral Researcher position is fully funded for three years and renewable after three years, and salary will be commensurate with NIH guidelines based on Postdoc years of experience. The appointee is expected to perform independent research, analyze and interpret results, develop new research ideas or techniques, and effectively communicate findings through peer-reviewed publications and by presenting in regional and national scientific conferences. The appointee will also gain experience in grantsmanship and mentoring by instructing residents, fellows, research technicians, graduate and undergraduate students in the Surgical Research laboratory.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals is a must.
Strong ability to work with all disciplines, levels, and backgrounds
Ability to direct and manage lab staff, students and trainees in carrying out lab research projects.

Experience Required

Highly-qualified scientists with a demonstrated ability to carry out cell, molecular or histopathological studies. Cancer research experience is preferred.

Education Requirements

A MD or MD/PhD or PhD in Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline is preferred
