MSI Express hiring a Plant Manager in Hammond, IN.

The Plant Manager position has comprehensive responsibility for all functional areas in the plant and leads, guides, and manages the site in a manner consistent with policies and procedures of MSI Express, as well as with Federal, state, and local laws. Accountable for the safety of our products and employees, the high quality of all products produced and/or packaged, for maintaining a positive work environment, and the financial results.

Responsibilities:

• Understands, follows, and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
• Maintains a safe work environment by coordinating safety initiatives through the plant’s participation and implementation of safety training programs, plant safety meetings, safety audits, and by encouraging employee involvement through safety suggestions, and safety committees.
• Leads the plant quality initiatives through the implementation of corrective actions from customer or internal audits or complaints, coordinating new product qualifications, participating in internal and external quality system audits, and developing and implementing corrective action plans.
• Maintains a clear understanding of customer expectations for accuracy, quality, and timelessness. Develops methods for meeting or exceeding those expectations.
• Create a positive working environment for all employees, which support continuous improvement, reinforce company philosophy and policies, and treats every individual with respect.
• Promotes an open-door policy, and a team building environment.
• Develop site budget within corporate guidelines, and ensures operation is functioning to cost and budget so all aspects of the operation contribute to the total P&L.
• Oversees the movement of goods into and out of production facilities to ensure reporting accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of operations.
• Oversees production scheduling, or production forecasts, to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
• Works cross-functionally with support departments across the organization to achieve overall goals.
• Communicate with other management, personnel, suppliers, vendors, and contractors promptly and professionally.
• Oversees key projects, processes, and performance reports.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5 years’ experience in management, required
• 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing, required
• Demonstrated experience with customer interaction
• Demonstrated experience working with and leading a diverse workforce including salaried and hourly personnel
