DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to performing the duties of a WTP Shift Operator or Operator in Training. Performing maintenance of all WTP equipment, booster stations, and water storage tanks. This includes pumps, valves, repair of flow meters, altitude valves and telemetry, etc. Usage of computers with knowledge of SCADA and membrane filtration is preferred.
Normal hours and days are Monday – Friday, 730am – 4pm. It is imperative that this employee be available to be pulled to days and shifts needed as a Fill-in Operator.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Current holder of a Class II or higher WV Drinking Water Operators license or have a 2-4 year college degree or other documented post high school education preferred
- Interest in advancement to full time Operator
- Ability to work under supervision, as well as independently
- Possess ability to analyze and solve problems without guidance
- Possess maintenance skills and troubleshooting abilities
- Available to work shift work, holidays, and weekends
- Maintain accurate logbooks and written notes of operations/maintenance preformed
- Process supply and repair parts orders
- Possess basic mathematic calculation and measurement skills
- Perform light manual labor as well as standing/walking for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in high spaces, confined spaces, and occasional extreme weather
- Have valid driver’s license and be a resident of the state of West Virginia
