We are seeking a
Physician Assistant for our urgent care facility located in
North Adams, MA. The PA's responsibility is to provide high-quality medical care to patients who present with a wide variety of urgent medical conditions. In this role, you will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure that patients receive prompt and efficient care.
Your key duties and responsibilities may include:
- Conducting thorough medical assessments of patients presenting with urgent medical conditions, such as acute injuries, illnesses, and infections.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, blood tests, and urinalysis, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians, including prescribing medications, performing procedures, and referring patients to specialists when necessary.
- Documenting patient care in electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all medical records.
- Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Providing support to the supervising physician in the management of patients with chronic medical conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
- Participating in quality assurance and improvement activities, including monitoring patient outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree and Certification.
- A current PA License in one of our urgent care states, in which you are applying.
- At least 2+ years of emergency medicine or 3+ years’ experience in high-volume urgent care, which includes the ability to manage adult and pediatric patients.
- Must be credentialed to see patients of all ages.
- Active DEA license with no restrictions.
- Current DOT certification or ability to become certified.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in urgent care or emergency medicine, excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients and their families. Finally, you should be comfortable using electronic medical records and other technology tools to support patient care and practice management.
