Physician Assistant

Newport Hospital & Health Services (NHHS) is searching for Board Eligible/Certified Family Practice PA interested in joining an integrated, full-spectrum family practice, in a uniquely situated rural community. This role will provide care in our rural health clinic for walk-in appointments as well as providing care in our emergency room in the hospital setting. A competitive salary and benefit package includes potential for loan repayment (State and Federal options).

NHHS, a Washington municipal corporation [Pend Oreille County Public Hospital District #1], is located in Newport, WA, and operates a 24-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH), Trauma Level IV emergency department, 15 provider rural health clinic, 54-bed high level care Assisted Living (24-hour nursing), 42-apartment assisted living facility.

The NHHS group consists of seven FP w/OB providers (five in rotation), two general surgeons, three physician assistants, a procedural based OB/Gyn., orthopedic surgeon, and a core of five ED providers (also FP trained). NHHSs medical staff provides full spectrum rural medicine (birth to end-of-life) working as a clinical team. Our clinic currently uses EPIC and has established a secure fiber optic, physician network accessible to the physicians homes. The network allows for 24 hour access to clinic and hospital patient records. NHHS has been recognized as one of Hospital & Health Networks, Most Wired Hospitals on multiple occasions.

As with most rural locations, NHHS cares for a significant population qualifying for Medicare/ Medicaid coverage (approximately 65% of our services). We are committed to ensure residents have full access to care in their home community, both primary and specialty care. We believe our model allows physicians to focus on the practice of medicine and clinical oversight and leaves insurance contracting, service billing, regulatory oversight and staff management to NHHSs managers and leadership team with MD directorships.

    • 24 bed Rural Community Hospital - Trauma Level IV
    • 15 providers Rural Health Clinic
    • 72 bed, high level care, Advanced Assisted Living Facility
    • 42 apartment; low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility
    • In 2021 we celebrated our 100th year in operation servicing the local members of Newport, WA and the surrounding communities.
