Job description
The VISTA project will build the capacity of Sustaining Way by helping the organization further develop existing adult and youth development programs and activities. This would include organizing educational events/programs, document/organize adult and youth programs and associated curriculum, recruit and coordinate volunteers to support development programs, develop methods to track program impacts and “check-in” on past program graduates, and assist in increasing resident engagement in development programs. All efforts will be addressed to serve the Nicholtown community, a historically marginalized community.
Member Duties : Develop and document the Steward Youth program and coordinate all of its on-site and off-site activities. Develop, document and organize adult and youth (K-12) curriculum related to Sustaining Way’s six areas of sustainability. Formalize Educational Resource Guides for Sustainability Topics. Develop personal expertise in sustainability so that VISTA Leader can serve as a resource for the local community. Develop and track adult and youth development program impact measures and work with marketing team to develop graphics to communicate. Integrate sustainability education into Sustaining Way’s various other programs. Host tours and educational events/activities for local community and general public. Coordinate people development related volunteers and interns. Support in the development of Annie's House by Sustaining Way (demonstration site) so that it can be an educational hub and serve as an example of affordable sustainable practices.
