Full-time Recovery Coach

Reports to: PCO Programs Coordinator

Position Type: Full-time

This position is in partnership with the Plymouth County House of Corrections.

Plymouth County Outreach is a multi-faceted collaboration of the 27 municipal police departments in Plymouth County, as well as Bridgewater State University Police Department, working together with Recovery Coaches and community organizations and coalitions to make treatment, resources, and harm reduction tools more accessible to those living with substance use disorder and their loved ones. Our goal is to provide compassionate, judgment-free support while reducing overdose fatalities.

Plymouth County Outreach is seeking a full-time Recovery Coach with a strong knowledge of Plymouth County Outreach (PCO) and Plymouth County substance use and behavioral health resources. This individual will interact with members of the community with the purpose of breaking down the barriers to services and making resources more accessible to those experiencing substance use disorder and their families as outlined in the Plymouth County Outreach model.

In addition, this individual will be responsible for conducting follow-ups alongside PCO Outreach Officers as well as conducting long-term follow-ups with various high-risk individuals including individuals living in overdose hot spots and Tier 2 individuals. This individual will also be responsible for data input in the PCO Critical Incident Management System.

This position will operate two days a week out of the Plymouth County House of Corrections to provide resources to individuals currently in and recently released from incarceration with a history of substance use disorder.

The Recovery Coach will use their lived experiences along with their knowledge of available Plymouth County Services and resources to guide individuals looking to make any positive change and improve their quality of life.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Actively working to get CARC certified

Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain appropriate ethics and boundaries
  • Will educate individuals on all resources available based on their expressed needs
  • Must maintain detailed, accurate data on follow-ups and resource distribution
  • Will conduct re-entry follow-ups
  • Will assist in Tier 2 follow ups
  • Will assist in conducting targeted outreach in overdose hot spots
  • Will work cohesively with PCO Executive Director and Program Manager
  • Conduct post-overdose follow-ups alongside Plymouth County law enforcement
  • Run groups in the Plymouth County House of Corrections

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed recovery coach academy training
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism at all times
  • Proficient in Microsoft and other computer programs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated, independent, and can multitask
  • Must be reliable and able to meet deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of community-based services and resources
  • Must support and be open to all pathways of recovery
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate with law enforcement
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality

Schedule:

Tuesday – Friday, 11:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday 9:30am – 2:30pm, Monday holidays observed Tuesdays + a competitive benefits package

Rate of pay: $16 – 22/hour, negotiable

This is a grant funded position through the Town of East Bridgewater Police Department
