Our growing company is adding a new team member to the Payroll Department!
A successful candidate will enjoy working with numbers and people. The Payroll Department works closely with Human Resources, all department managers, and the accounting staff. Payroll plays a key role in hiring, insurance enrollments, 401(k) enrollments, and managing employee files.
Various pay types and payroll cycles require some overtime throughout the month. The role also handles accounting duties related to compensation and benefits.
A successful payroll specialist is able to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. They are good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. They have great communication skills to interact with colleagues and executives.

Responsibilities
- Gather information on hours worked for each employee
- Calculate the correct wages incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc.
- Process taxes and payment of employee benefits
- Keep track of hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.
- Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and supervisors
- Prepare reports for management and other departments
Skills
- Proven experience as payroll clerk or payroll specialist
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
- Working knowledge of regulations of the field
- Trustworthy and profession in the handling of confidential information
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
