Position: Payroll Analyst
Reports to: Senior Manager, Payroll/HRIS
Location: Corporate, Deer Park, Tx 77536
Timing: Full Time

Position Summary:
The Payroll Analyst collects employee information and enter time-sheet data into the payroll system. They process paychecks, attend to and resolve pay-related queries, ensure labor regulations are followed, and prepare reports for review by management

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work as a member of the Payroll Team to consistently process weekly and biweekly US multi-state and Canadian payrolls that include employee garnishment, benefit, and tax deductions, all in compliance with federal, state and provincial wage and hour laws.
  • Collaborate with Branch Management and Administrative Professionals to obtain accurate pay information as well as clarification on corrections, customer, and departmental coding, required approvals for special pay/interdepartmental charges, etc
  • Regularly communicate system or procedural instructions and/or changes to Branch Administrators
  • Conduct new Branch Administrative Professional training on Payroll processes/procedures.
  • Research, prepare back-up for and process stop payment requests, manual check requests as needed.
  • Review/analyze timecard detail for period compliance regarding pay policies/procedures, federal, state, and provincial compliance.
  • Collaborate with Payroll Team to develop process improvement initiatives and establish project objectives to successfully carry out the change process.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, both internal and external
  • Respond to requests from Legal Department for Payroll related records and information.
  • Prepare and/or assist with regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, customer assignments/hours, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws and apply changes as appropriate.
  • Handle special projects related to payroll and perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience processing within a large organization with multi-state payroll (3,000+).
  • Extensive knowledge of ADP or other large scale payroll system.
  • Proficient at MS Office.
  • Ability to successfully work in a matrix organization.
