Job Summary:
The Payroll Accounting Manager is responsible for the centralized payroll reporting and funding reconciliation process of all the centralized hotels and the Corporate entities. The position is responsible for ensuring proper functioning of the department through direct oversight and development, implementation and monitoring of appropriate policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2+ years in public accounting and/or accounting management or experience, preferably in the hospitality or real estate industry.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of payroll accounting, GL mapping and payroll funding.
  • Strong leadership, coordination and coaching skills.
  • Requires thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong critical thinking/analytical ability.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management from Executive to staff, including non-exempt level

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee distribution of responsibilities and performance of Staff and Senior Accountants.
  • Oversee relationships with Corporate Accounting internal clients including Property and Shared Services.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures and systems of internal control for each Corporate level functional area.
  • Oversee implementation and adherence to Aimbridge document management and retention policies.
  • Perform bi-annual review of Corporate Accounting systems of record to ensure appropriateness of end-user permissions and roles.
  • Reconcile each payroll processed against the funding files generated and address/correct all identified discrepancies.
  • Review and complete the payroll variance settlements between hotels.
  • Supervise daily and period-closing activities and provide guidance to Staff and Senior Accountants during the process
  • Review and approve master payroll bank account reconciliations and payroll related balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve Corporate payroll financial reports and analysis
  • Coordinate the billing of Corporate employees performing as task force or being allocated to hotels.
  • Prepare a detailed monthly Corporate wage analysis and reconciled to financials.
  • Oversee annual staff performance assessment.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate key performance indicators (kpi’s) to aid in financial statement analysis and understanding.
