Pavement / Sidewalk Survey Technician

Full-time (40 hours per week); or Part-time (16 - 32 hours per week)

Bucknam Infrastructure Group, Inc. is searching for a Pavement / Sidewalk Survey Technician for our Oceanside, CA office. The successful candidate will provide field survey support for our SoCal city clients and Infrastructure Management team (most projects are located in Orange, LA, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties).

Description / Duties:
The Pavement / Sidewalk Survey Technician is required to maintain pavement management program (PMP) data through condition surveys, PMP assessment and implementation, calculation and field data entry activities. Additionally, this staffer is responsible for ensuring that current, accurate data regarding surface area and condition is available through the PMP. This is completed through scheduled visual and digital roadway imaging inspections of streets and classification of street section condition using the ASTM D6433 based inspection methodology (i.e. MicroPAVER, StreetSaver, GIS software).

This staffer usually works alone in the field and is expected to exercise considerable initiative in working efficiently through the day’s work assignments (mileage reimbursement is provided).

Qualifications / Requirements:
Minimum Qualification Required. Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a minimum of two-years of employment in the infrastructure, construction or engineering fields (technical level experience preferred), at least one year of proven pavement and street condition surveying or closely related field activities.

Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, clean driving record and car insurance

Essential Functions:

  • Collection of agency pavement / sidewalk data in the field via mobile tablets and/or through infrastructure management software;
  • Assist with local agency/Public Works infrastructure management (street and right-of-way) surveys;
  • Utilize, create maps and graphs, using GIS software and related tools/applications;
  • Gather, analyze, and integrate pavement/sidewalk data to determine how best the information can be utilized for our projects;
  • Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents;
  • Daily communication to share data, procedures, efficiencies, and problem-solving;
  • Assume additional office/field responsibilities and perform special projects as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of MicroPAVER, StreetSaver, or other Pavement Management software is preferred (not required, training available);
  • Certification with the use of MicroPAVER and/or MTC StreetSaver preferred
  • Local agency (City, County) experience is preferred, not necessary;
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving abilities;
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy;
  • Ability to work independently w/minimal supervision or in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with clients, team members and management;
  • Clean driving record

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $41,600.00 - $45,700.00 per year
