Job description

You will be responsible for all aspects of a patients financial account including explaining financial information, reviewing insurance coverage, and educating the patient on their financial options. You will also compile estimated revenue per surgical case within the medical practice.

prior to surgical treatment, review insurance coverage and demographics. Educate patient on coverage, benefits, copays, deductibles and out of pocket exenses.

conduct patient consultations to review patient obligations, answer questions and set clear expectations of payment protocol. Document patient charts using Medent EMR.

Collect estimated liability from patient and apply to patient accounts.

post payments, run and complete weekly reconciliation reports to ensure all patient obligations are met.

Demonstrate the ability to make logical and reasonable decisions regarding patient accounts to ensure quality and efficiency.

Ability to work and review patient accounts quickly regarding outstanding balances including following up with other finance teams on outstanding claims.

respond to patient calls/correspondance regarding billing questions, financial policies and claims submission.

Project estimated surgical revenue per surgical case for the practice.

Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills, work independently and demonstrate good judgement

Ability to work in a stressful enviorment and overcome obstacles sometimes with last minute changes

work with minimal supervision, multi task and handle patient confidentiality

perform efficiently with some analytical/problem solving skills

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge of EMR, Medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes preferred

1-3 years medical billing experience preferred

Orthopedic medical practice experience a plus!

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
