About the Role
The Pathology Associate reports to the supervisor of necropsy and will perform necropsies, tissue trimming and sampling on all pathology related study materials as specified in company protocols and SOPs.
What You'll Do Here

• Prepare for and perform Necropsy procedures in adherence to study protocols and Good Laboratory Practices on, but not limited to, mice, rats, and nonhuman primates
• Weigh and trim organs and tissues
• Prepare bone marrow smears and prep bones for histopathology
• Perform a variety of specialized tissue sampling techniques, including but not limited to liquid nitrogen immersion, perfusion, tissue processing media, and fixation
• Perform mechanical, inventory and organizational maintenance of the laboratory
• Maintains wet tissue storage room: storage records, cataloging, and heat-sealing studies
• Handles and disposes hazardous biological and/or chemical substances and wastes in accordance with applicable policies and procedures

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) preferred, Associates degree or additional work experience acceptable or relevant laboratory experience
• ALAT certification preferred
• Basic bench chemistry skills required. Aptitude to learn new pathology and histology techniques
• Critical thinking, problem solving and strong attention to detail

What We Offer

The pay range estimated for this position is $20.25-$28-27 per hour. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
