We are hiring part-time and full-time drivers. We have up to 3 weeks of paid training ($15.00/hour) and if you would like to be included in this class, contact us to get more information! A CDL license is NOT required to apply.

Pasco County Schools employs more than 500 drivers who safely transport children to and from school and extracurricular activities each day. We have six bus compounds in Pasco County to choose from;

Land O' Lakes, Port Richey, Trinity, Hudson, Zephyrhills, and Dade City.

Full Time School Bus Driver

• Assigned to a daily route
• Guaranteed a minimum of 6 hours daily (most routes are longer)
• Starting hourly rate $15.38 per hour + Full Health Benefits
• Full-time Drivers are eligible for health care benefits valued at $7000.00. Benefits are in effect year-round. Benefit information can be found at Employee Benefits and Risk Management on the Pasco School Website.
• Work a split shift (example: 6:30 to 9:45 am & 1:30 to 5:00 pm)
• Work 182 days per year. Two weeks off during winter break, one week off during spring break, and one week off during Thanksgiving. Total of 6 days of paid holiday time
• Limited summer routes available by seniority
• Full-time drivers eligible to earn additional income by doing extra-curricular activity trips

Part-time School Bus Driver

• Flexible hours of your choice, for example, mornings only, pm only, particular days only
• Must be consistent week to week
• Must average less than 20 hours per week
• Assigned to a long term route when possible
• $15.38 per hour
• No Benefits, No Field Trips

Job Requirements

We provide up to 15 days of paid training at $15.00 per hour, (benefits begin approximately 2 months after completing the class and beginning work, except for the May, June and July classes). A CDL license is not required to apply, we will train you.

• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License prior to beginning a School Bus Driver class. A CDL license is not required to apply.
• Must clear a Department of Motor Vehicles license check, entire driving history is reviewed. No DUI in the last seven years, no more than five points in the last year or ten points within the last three year, no history of CHRONIC driving violations shown on entire driving history
• Must be able to clear an FBI/ FDLE security background check: Any and all prior arrest histories must be disclosed upon application, reviewed, and cleared by the District's Professional Review Committee before an offer of is made employment
• Must be able to pass: A DOT physical, A Pre-employment drug test, A Previous OTETA information request

· Must be able to successfully pass the DOE School Bus Driver class administered by DSBPC Transportation Dept

· Must be able to successfully complete all CDL Skills tests required to obtain Class B commercial driver's license with passenger and school bus endorsements
