Brightpoint Community College is seeking a Collections Assistant to join our Libraries. The Collections Assistant works under the supervision of the Library Director and with the Collections Specialist. The Collections Assistant supports the purchase of print and digital materials and supplies for the library, supports collections maintenance, and works directly with students, faculty and staff to provide information services. The Collections Assistant’s role includes ordering of library materials, assisting with the management of existing library collections, answering questions at the in-person and virtual Information Desk, and assisting with the college archive. The Collections Assistant is based at the Chester Campus; 20-29 hours per week; schedule may include day, evening and/or Saturday hours.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.



KSA's/Required Qualifications
High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Flexibility to adapt in a changing environment. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check .

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Library, archives, bookstore or museum experience preferred. Cataloging experience preferred. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply even if their past experience does not include all of the preferred qualifications.
