Part-Time Accounting Assistant
Are you an Accountant who enjoys working in a small company, wearing multiple hats and helping with all things accounting? We are looking for a Part-Time Accountant to work with our Controller to help manage the finances of the company and provide/analyze the facts to help the business make decisions. This role is 5 days per week, 25 hours total. There is potential for this position to grow to full time based on the needs of the business.
Platt Builders is an award-winning residential renovation and custom cabinetry company that offers partnered design, project management, custom cabinetry & millwork, and finish level carpentry. These specialties enable us to deliver turn-key custom home construction and remodeling projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting strongly preferred
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting practices
- Ability to read and analyze financial reports
- Highly experienced in Quickbooks or other accounting software
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Highly motivated with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
- Must be detail and deadline oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- The ability to interact and communicate professionally with clients and co-workers
Position Responsibilities:
- Create weekly reports for management and team members
- Provide clerical accounting and accounts payable support
- Process vendor invoices and prepare weekly cash disbursements
- Perform multiple bank reconciliations
- Draft and review financial statements
- Document retention and organization
- Maintain and update bookkeeping spreadsheets
- Update client accounts based on payment and contact information
- Invoice preparation and distribution
- Contact customers to expedite payment on past due accounts
- Other duties as assigned
