SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER
$14.00 per hour
DEPARTMENTS: Parks
REPORTS TO: Parks and Recreation Manager
SUPERVISES: None.
Task Description
Performs a range of manual tasks including semi-skilled and skilled work, equipment operations, routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment used.
Responsible for:
Trash and weed pickup- Mowing and trimming
- Painting and patching
- Sweeping, digging, raking and planting
- Prepare athletic fields for use as directed
- Working in concession stands
- Operate trucks, power tools and related small equipment as required and under supervision.
- Responsible for loading and unloading materials from small dump truck.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor/Designee.
Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude required. Good face-to-face, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid Missouri driver's license.
Essential Functions
Sight, hearing, smell and speech. Ability to work with a variety of power tools, hand tools, small and medium equipment in a safe manner; ability to do lifting, overhead lifting, standing, climbing, working in high places, bending for up to ten hours a day up to 50 pounds and in adverse weather conditions. Knowledge of hazardous chemicals used on the job and associated safety procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and the public.
